Hop to it: art and rabbits awaken the city’s spaces

Written by Amy Sullivan

Human rabbits will be roaming the streets of Melbourne on Friday as part of an art installation for RMIT University and Madrid-based art collective ‘mmmm….’

The roaming exhibit will highlight the use of public spaces in the wake of increasing concerns about terror related incidents. Artist Eva Salmeron says the group are excited to be performing the piece in Melbourne.

“There have been many terrorist attacks in the world, and the sense of the street has changed, sometimes it’s a space for fear…we don’t want to lose the ownership of the streets we all have as citizens, ” Salmeron says.

The human rabbits will be active from twelve to 2pm in the CBD this Friday.
