For my documentary assignment I gained access to take photos inside one of Melbourne’s popular music recording studios: Bakehouse Studios in Fitzroy.
Taking residence in the studio were Australian band ‘The Drones’, who were recording their seventh studio album. The band has been making music in Australia since 1997 and have slowly won over critics and a worldwide audience.
I wanted to not only produce images that show the creative process of recording but to also show some of the individual band members personalities and their unique approach to producing music. The main focus of the narrative was the lead singer, Gareth Liddiard.
