City Journal is produced by RMIT journalism students. Work is produced by students under the guidance of academic staff in the Bachelor of Communication (Journalism) and in the Graduate Diploma of Journalism.

RMIT’s journalism programs have a long history of online publishing. RMIT’s original journalism ezine, the Fifth Estate, started publication in 1999.  In 2008 students in the Online Journalism Production class undertook a comprehensive analysis of this and other professional news sites to create a new look and name for the City Journal site.

A redesign of the most recent City Journal site began in August 2017, with work ongoing to keep our site evolving with new trends in journalism production.

You can contact City Journal via cityjournal[at]rmit.edu.au.
