Australians forget about debt in order to travel

Australians are choosing to spend their tax refunds on travel rather than using the money to pay off debt or make new investments.

A new survey has found that just under half of Australians are hoping to spend this year’s tax refund on travel plans instead of paying off credit cards and other debts.

Bella Twomey of G Adventures – the group who commissioned the survey – says the survey found that experiences were being favoured over material objects when it came to the mid-year tax refunds.
