Melbourne Victory have moved, at least for now, to the top of the A-League ladder, thanks to a 1-0 win over last season’s champions, Brisbane Roar.
The home side dominated the match, with Fahid Ben Khalfallah dangerous in open play and Leigh Broxham making chance after chance at the set pieces.
But the evening’s deciding goal came via a (un)fortunate deflection, with Roar defender Jade North caught in the firing line of a Besart Berisha header that was heading wide.
