Tax cuts put spotlight on drug companies funding medical education

The President of the Rural Doctor’s Association of Victoria, Dr Michael Moynihan says proposed changes to tax deductions for work-related self-education will further ensure medical education is directed towards the interest of pharmaceutical companies.

Dr Moynihan says the Federal Government needs to ensure medical education is not entirely directed towards the marketing of pharmaceutical products, because pharmaceutical companies fund some educational experiences.
