Christina Dias is an artist haunted by traumatic experiences from her past.

Suffering bouts of severe depression, flashbacks and recurring nightmares, she finds making art helps her process some of her most difficult psychological scars.

During a relapse in recovery, she recalls having one of the most confronting dreams of her life.

“It was horrifying to say the least,” she says.

This dream led her back to using art as a therapeutic outlet.

Ms Dias now has a growing collection of original works including literature, paintings and music compositions.

Some of these works smile down from her bedroom walls, the others she hides around her room.

They’re her solace, her therapy, her passion and life’s work.

Through art, Ms Dias, is finding a way to reclaim her identity, her purpose in life and her greatest love of all, creating.
