In Braidwood, a small town outside of Canberra, Meals on Wheels has been a staple of the community for more than 30 years but this year local volunteers were told they were no longer required, Braidwood’s Meals on Wheels had come to an end.

In Braidwood, a small town outside of Canberra, Meals on Wheels has been a staple of the community for more than 30 years but this year local volunteers were told they were no longer required, Braidwood’s Meals on Wheels had come to an end.

Now instead of hot meals delivered daily by local volunteers from the Braidwood hospital, frozen meals arrive once a week from Queanbeyan, 70 kilometeres away.

Braidwood Meals on Wheels participants, Tony Shepherd and Claire Milner, say they have been given no explanation.
