Walkers hope for bigger recovery next year

Supporters of the Celebrate Recovery walk are hoping that the 2014 will be even bigger after a large turn out on the weekend.

The five-kilometre walk, from Federation Square has just been held for the second time and organisers are planning a bigger event for next year.

Vice Chair of Recovery Academy Australia, Heather Pickard, says the walk effectively raises awareness of addiction recovery with the 2013 event attracting another big crowd on Sunday.

Not just people in recovery but community members who supported the idea of celebrating hope and change. Researchers, politicians, family members, service providers and people themselves in recovery.
