We all know at least one person who loves to overshare on their social medias. With “Story” features being found across most social platforms – from Snapchat to Facebook – people are now able to share more moments in their lives than ever before… maybe a little too much.
Here’s a list of the most annoying things we’ve found across social media Stories, some of which, even you may be guilty of.
1. Entire concerts
We understand the urge to show the world you’re at your favourite artists concert… but please one or two videos are enough… we don’t need the entire concert recorded vertically on a shaky iPhone with ear jarring audio. And we definitely don’t need you singing in the background.
2. Inside jokes
Storying inside jokes between you and friends may seem like entertaining content for… you and your friends… not really for the rest of your hundreds or thousands of followers. Save it for the group chat. Or to yourself.
3. Clubbing and drunk videos
Some people really just need their phones locked away while they’re getting lit with their squad. No one wants to see your sloppy camera work as you “bussdown” in a noisy and poorly lit club. The only time we want to see you and your friends drunk is if someone is falling through the ceiling.
4. Singing videos
These are the stories where people either stare at the camera and mouth words to a song playing in the background, or worse, are actually singing the song. Just like those concerts, we don’t want to hear your sub-par singing voice.
5. Your entire day
We shouldn’t need a day to watch the highlights of your day. No.
6. Things you’ve sent out already
This is quite possibly the worst offence – if you’re constantly spamming out snaps to your entire Snapchat friends list, and then post the same snaps on your Story… you need to stop. We’re trying to save our data plans out here.
7. Your private parts
Whether it’s by accident, or on purpose… please just save these for the DMs.
