RISE is a not-for-profit organisation which is uniquely operated by refugees, asylum seekers and ex-detainees. Ramesh Fernandez is the founder of RISE, and after many years in detention wanted to find a way to bring the community together and to give them the voice they deserve. The RISE office is located within Ross House on Flinders Lane. RISE offers its members opportunities to grow in their communities as well as campaigning to improve refugee/asylum seeker policy in Australia.
