Cashless economy hurting Australian seniors

Australians are using less cash than ever since the introduction of contactless payment methods in 2013.

The Reserve Bank of Australia found cash payments had fallen from 69% in 2007 to just 27% in 2019.

The coronavirus pandemic has shifted the spending habits of many Australians as physical cash has been discouraged across many business sectors.

But for senior Australians who rely on cash daily, the transition has not been welcomed.
