When will the next federal election be held?

Methodology: Data was scraped from the AEC historical records for the data covering 1949 to 2004. Data for 2007, 2010, and 2013 was also drawn from the AEC but each was scraped separately. Data was scraped into a Google sheet and then copied to Open Office. Dates were converted to 3 columns using the “split” function and months were converted to text using the format feature. Data was organised into Two Party Preferred figures for each election. An additional column was added to list the outright winner given the TPP results did not always correlate with the majority of seats won. The incumbent government was determined by a simple copy and paste one down in the column beside the win/loss column. Data was looked at in terms of dates, months, and seasons.
