RMIT’s research gains new support

RMIT researchers are trying to determine if a Chinese root can help people suffering lung diseases.

Ellen Burgin reports the study into lung disease took a step forward today, with two new hospitals joining the research.

“RMIT University continue to lead the way in ground breaking medical research, looking at whether a traditional Chinese root, Ginseng, can improve the quality of life in patients with lung diseases such as emphysema. The Northern Hospital and The Frankston hospital joined the clinical trial today.  “So the expansion of the clinical trial into the new hospitals means more collaboration for RMIT University in clinical trials, and it opens up networks for us to implement this study and also implement studies into the future.” Research Fellow Johannah Shergis the says this development means they can have a wider net of participants.
