University pays for Gonski’s school reforms

Federal education cuts from the Gillard Government starting in 2014 will take $2.8 billion dollars from university funding to help pay for the Gonski Education reforms.

Unions are expressing their concerns for current and future tertiary students, and President of the National Union of Students, Jade Tyrrell, fears these cuts will only make it harder for students to achieve a university degree

The NUS is planning protests against these changes later in the week.
